Bacup in mourning: Model’s life ends in heart-rending tragedy at 36

The Rossendale community remains in shock after the tragic death of 36-year-old model Luke Harden in Bacup. A life that once lit up the catwalk ended abruptly, leaving a void that reverberates far beyond the world of fashion. The incident, which unfolded in the early hours of 1 November, has shaken both locals and the modelling world.

The tragic incident

Emergency services were called to Newchurch Road in Bacup at around 12:35 am after reports of a man lying on the pavement. Paramedics rushed to the scene, performing CPR in an attempt to save him, but, tragically, Luke was pronounced dead at the scene.

The agency shared its grief on social media, describing Luke as “one of our favourite models” and a man who “was loved by all who met him and respected everyone who worked with him.” His sudden passing has sent ripples of sorrow through both his family and the wider community.

In the aftermath of his death, police arrested two people on suspicion of murder: a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman. Detective Chief Inspector Bryony Midgley offered her condolences, saying, “I am thinking of his loved ones at this sad time.” Officers are continuing to establish the circumstances leading up to Luke’s death and have appealed for anyone with information or footage to come forward.
